the way we work
Trust in Children is primarily a grant-giving charity, awarding relatively small amounts of funding to projects where this can make a real difference.
A good education can have a dramatic impact on a child’s life, and on the community that child comes from. For that reason we focus our efforts on empowering young people by creating safe, reliable and open environments for them to realise their potential.
We are a strong believer that a small amount of money can go a long way, particularly in countries where children are in the most need. We scrutinise each potential project carefully before awarding funds, as well as considering aspect such as child-safeguarding, so our members and supporters can feel confident their funds are being spent on well-run, cost-effective projects.
Donations to Trust in Children have maximum impact on the children we support, as we don’t have any paid staff and keep our running costs extremely low. In the 2010/2011 financial year, only 3% of our income was spent on administrative costs.
